School House Rocks

Yes, another first day of school for Samantha and Nicholas came (and went) on Tuesday. But this was a milestone for Samantha. She's finished with elementary school and headed off to middle school. Wow! Can so many years have passed already? She was a little nervous early on in the summer. But I think finally being at the same school as her many BFFs has made the transition a lot less daunting.

We took the kids to our traditional "first day of school breakfast", although we had to settle for McD's when our alarm clock somehow got turned off. Less time than planned but we still had time to have our family meal.



Then we took Samantha to school and, like a good scrapping mom, I snapped a quick shot of Samantha and Rachel at the front of the school.

Then we headed over to take Nicholas to the bus stop. Just so happened that one of his BFFs, Sean, was there. Hmmmm...is "BFF" an acceptable term for two such mature young lads? Anyway, I got a shot of them together. That's when Sean (whose mom in Cindy and one of MY scrapping BFFs) said to me, "You'll have to send my mom a copy of this picture." Ahhhh...a well-trained scrapper's child.
