Girls' Day Out

Well, it wasn't the whole day but a good portion of it. And a good day it was, too. Ya see, my in-laws drove up from N.M. for a visit. They got in yesterday afternoon, in time for a nice family dinner. Then Nana joined me when I took DD to her piano lesson. Ya know, many things are passed on from generation to generation. Your height, the color of your eyes, music ability. That last trait...NOT from me. That one came from my hubby's side of the family. Specifically, from my MIL's side of the family. So it was really neat to be able to sit back and watch my MIL as she watched her granddaughter. You could tell just how proud she was...and she has every right to be. DD's continued improvement at the keyboard is incredible. I wish I could sound as good as she does. They even got to play a duet with each other ("Take Me Out to the Ballgame"). It was awesome!

Today, after DD got out of school, the three of us ladies had lunch at the Victorian Tea Garden. High tea - complete with finger sandwiches, fruit, scones, and tea cakes. It was very yummy. And the teas were great, too. Rose petal, almond cherry, and apple spice. All served on dainty tea cups on beautiful lace tablecloths.

Then, we headed to the mall for some shopping. The shopping was all for DD. She tried on lots of cute outfits for Nana...and mom bought almost all of them! Oh well, isn't that what shopping is all about?

Finally, we had dinner at Tony Roma's with two families who have been friends of ours for quite a while now. We always have a great time when we get together. Family. Friends. What a great day!

"Gotta Do It" challenge: I received a Circle Journal today from one of my CKU-A friends (it's beautiful, by the way). Her theme is "What's My Line?" and the basis is to use your favorite line of scrapbooking supplies. I added my 2-page layout to her journal using Making Memories (my most fav product line). It was really a lot of fun doing it - especially since I have quite the stash to pick from. So...go ahead and do the same. Create a LO using YOUR fav sb line of product. If it's a fav, you probably have LOTS of it. And if you use some of it up, you have reason to go buy more!
