The whirlwind weekend

Boy, we had us a crazy few days here. A quick trip to Roswell (yes, the home of the aliens) to attend Mat's cousin's wedding. She is the youngest and the last of the six to be married. She holds a soft spot in our hearts as she, being the youngest and a girl, has always been close to Samantha. Like a big sister when we got together. So, Samantha was tickled to be asked to serve as a bridesmaid in the wedding. Nicholas was one of the ringbearers. He and his cousin also got to light candles at the front of the church. Whew! We were wondering how that would turn out. Kept having flashbacks of the airline's announcement to passengers.... "In the event of an emergeny, please proceed to the nearest exit. Please note that the nearest exit may be behind you." I'm guessing the church's insurance is up-to-date! Just kidding. Actually, they were sooo good. Very somber and serious going up the aisle with the candlelighters. A job well done.

Samantha looked so grown up. She's about as tall as me now (within an inch, max). She wore a black gown from David's Bridal (each of the bridesmaids got to pick their own style, as long as it was black and from David's). It looked very nice. They held a bouquet of fuschia pink long stem roses. And the bride was gorgeous, wearing her fuschia pink heels under her gown! I'll share photos later.

Kids (and us) also got to see Papa and Nana, plus Auntie Jess, Uncle Clint and cousin Michal. Lots of fun. And OMG! You should have seen the 3 boy cousins out on the dance floor. I'll have to figure out how to post a video. Totally funny. Hey, they were dancing up a storm. Better than many of the "So You Think You Can Dance" auditions.

Got back home at 1am on Monday morning, then off to school and work. ICK! We were wiped yesterday. But that's what you do for family.
