Not your typical blog post combination but it works for this week. You see, Samantha recently found out her parts in this year's Nutcracker production. She has been cast as one of the rats (from Act I's Battle Scene... Rat King/mice/rats vs. Nutcracker/soldiers/cavalry) and as one of the Marzipan Corps (from Act II). She is very excited, to say the least. She and many of her closest dance BFFs were cast as marzipan so that makes it even more fun.
As for the rollercoaster part, that's in honor of our trip to Silverwood. We took a drive and went camping across from the theme park this weekend. The kids had a great time (so did we) and they even got to ride on the newest rollercoaster, Aftershock...twice! The weather was incredible. Couldn't have asked for better. We also took advantage of a ticket special they had. Bring 2 cans of food (donation to local food bank) and get an adult ticket at half-off. That's a savings of $20! Couple that with Samantha's free ticket and we only spent $60 for the 4 of us. All the rides are included in the price, plus the magic show in the park, the train ride around the park in a real steam engine, and souvenirs at half-off, too. With the Nutcracker and flag football schedules coming up, we figured it was our last chance to do some camping and visit the park. Two birds. Gotta like that.
