Crazy Days!

I can't believe that the days are flying by so fast. We're just days from Spring Break and so much has happened lately.

Samantha and MCB had their Spring Performance. She danced in three pieces: one was an excerpt from "Sleeping Beauty", one was a piece choreographed by Kiyon Gaines, and one of my favorites, Aranada (choreographed by Debra Rogo). I loved every one, and Samantha danced beautifully. She is also getting ready for an audition with Dance Fremont. If accepted, she would dance at their summer intensive, something she'd really love to do.

Nick is in the midst of baseball. It's been a slow start for his team, going 0-3 to start the season. There have been some positives along the way. Nick has pitched in two of the games, doing very well. He is 2-for-3 at the plate, being patient when he needs to be. Waiting for the perfect pitch...well, almost every time. And his fielding has been great. He caught a 2-out, bases loaded fly ball into center field to end the inning. He barehanded a hit at 3rd to throw the batter out at 1st. And while playing 2nd, he took the cutoff throw from the center fielder and threw the runner out at home. What a rock star!

Right now, we're in the midst of our kitchen remodel. Our living room is filled with boxes, pots, pans, and other gadgets, while the garage contains the stove, dishwasher, and microwave. It's like a scavenger hunt every time I need to make a meal. The two slabs of granite that we've picked are FINALLY here in town (long story). And the old cabinet doors have been removed and will soon be replaced with new cherry doors with brushed nickel handles.

Tonight is Nick's fifth grade choral fest. For two nights (last night and tonight), all the KSD fifth graders perform for their families and friends at one of the local high schools. Half of the schools sang last night; tonight is Nick's school's turn. There are singing 5 songs, from The Black Eyed Peas' "I've Got a Feeling" to the Beach Boys' "Surfin' USA". I got a sneak peak last week when I stopped by Nick's school only to find out that the 5th graders were performing for the rest of the school. They did a great job.

Okay, is it time to exhale now???
