Apparently, more than just Three Cheers!

So, Thursday night finally rolled around. Our dorm was the 2nd of 3 to perform. We were up after the Scrappin' Orphans (think Little Orphan Annie). They did their song to "It's a Scrappin Life" (takeoff of "It's a Hardknock Life"). Very original, very cute! Tough act to follow. The 3rd dorm was a takeoff of "The Beverly Hillbillies". OMG! You should have seen their centerpiece. It was an almost life-size version of the Clampett jalopy! Too funny! They did their song to the Hillbillies' theme song (from the show).

Our dorm's song was a rewrite of Queen's "We Are The Champions/We Will Rock You" medley. I'll have to take the credit (or the blame) for the lyrics. I thought they were pretty good...and I guess the CK judges must have thought they were good enough to make the first cut. We sang "We are the Scrappers" as a group, then rocked into "We will scrap you" with me doing the first verse solo, Jen taking the 2nd verse. We did the whole "vrooom, vroooom" thing with our invisible bikes. Marcia (the only "real" biker babe in the dorm) taught us how to mount a motorcycle (swing your leg from behind). Tove was the resident expert when it came to biker sound effects! We wore our matching black biker tshirts, black du-rags, leather jackets, sun glasses...we were COOL! Well, after 2 rounds of applause (the judges needed to have a re-clap to break a tie), the Biker Babes emerged victorious! WHOOOHOOO for us! It was an awesome experience for all of us.

The 3-day CKU-A experience was great! After being at two "regular" CKUs (and they were both loads of fun), it was nice to do the albums thing. I took Margie Romney-Aslett's "Friends" track (Making Memories) and it was a BLAST! Couldn't have asked for a funner time. And we had a relatively small class that we got to know each other pretty well. Even had a chance to take a group photo with everyone's camera. Margie is going to try to have it uploaded to the MM website ("...let's pray about it!"...). No late night homework here either (another plus). I really felt for all my roomies and dormies and friends who were up till the wee hours of the night (and morning) trying to get "caught up" or finish. Margie and Gail made my album track a wonderful, fun experience.

"Gotta Do It" challenge: The Biker Babes were an awesome sight, decked out in our black. The colored logo on our shirts just POPPED! So, start with a black background for your next LO and let your choice of color(s) pop off the page!
