Okay, gotta get this blog back up and running on a more routine basis. Unfortunately, there's just too much happening in our lives and I find myself forgetting to address this. Last night, I drove to the baseball field (I was one of the parents that was supposed to work the concession stand). Well, wouldn't ya know it...rain! We've had a bit of it lately. The wet stuff and WIND! Lots of WIND! Even had a tornado warning on Friday night! Geez Louise! Some parts were really affected by the wind (gusts to 75mph). Anyway, they canceled the early games...and with that cancellation, the concession stand didn't open. So lucky me was let off the hook for working. Oh well. Would have been fun to see the kids come for snacks but in that weather, the crowd would have been rather light. So headed home for dinner with the family (instead of hot dogs with the workers).
Called the school to find out the Christmas vacation schedule. YES! Already planning for that (ya gotta when you need to check airline tix). Weird vacation schedule due to the day of the week that Christmas and New Year's falls. I prefer it when the holiday is midweek. Then, we usually get two full weeks off. Oh well, ya can't always have everything.
Besides that, we are getting ready for the camping season. Yeppers! Finally get to use the tent trailer we purchased last fall from our good friends. The kids are excited (us, too) so we are hoping for a maiden voyage this weekend. Yes, it's Memorial Day. No, we don't have reservations. But we hope to just do a one-nighter within an hour of home as a test run. That way, if we forget anything "major", we can head home or a nearby box store and get what we need. Happy trails to us (we hope!).
