Yes, here we are in New Mexico! Arrived yesterday around 4pm to the most beautiful day! The sun was shining, the skies were clear blue, and the flight was uneventful. All three things added up to a great first day in ABQ. It was in the mid 40s....which was wonderful after the sub-zero temps, snow and ice, and overcast skies in our neck of the woods.
After unloading all the suitcases from the two cars, we headed off to Papa Felipe's for our first of many NM meals to come over the next two weeks. Even a bad New Mexican meal here is better than any really good Mexican meal in WA (....my apologies to all the Mexican restaurants back home).
Then today, Mat and I headed out to do some Christmas shopping without Samantha and Nicholas (thanks to Papa Bob and Nana Kathy for watching the kids for us). It allowed us to shop for them, plus get in-and-out of stores quickly. Found most everything we were looking for, plus some great "finds" that we weren't anticipating. Finally, grabbed a bite at Lotaburger (cheeseburger with green chiles) before heading home.
All in all, a great day!
