So close, yet...

Nicholas' team has had a rough beginning to their season. They've lost 3 of their first 4 games. Not once have they been blown out (a good thing). They lost their first game by 3 runs against one of the better teams...and that while missing one of our top players. Game two was a loss by just 2 runs against a team we can definitely beat. Game 3 was in the W column, with our boys coming home with a 14-3 win. Then last night, we lost to the other team AND the clock, 11-5. We were the home team and in the midst of our last "at bat". Bases loaded with just one out when the ump called the game due to time (the 7:15 game was ready to start). Arghh! Hate to see the boys fight back so hard, only to be told they can't finish the inning. I realize there are rules to the game and we must abide by them. But try explaining that to 11 boys who've fought back and now have "come from behind" on their minds. Oh well, just one of life's many difficult lessons to be learned.
