Where did it go...?

The time, that is. The last time I blogged it was Easter. Over a month ago. How sad is that! So, let me catch up on what's been happening.

Baseball: The season is winding down. And it's been quite a different season from last year. Going from 2nd place to 2nd from the bottom is quite the turnaround. It's probably not the last time a team of Nicholas' will face adversity. After many games without a win (albeit never 10-runned), our team finally got a win! Two of them. In a row, no less. It was great seeing the boys come out on top. Although the team has been struggling, Nicholas has been doing great! He has shined on the mound, doing what a good pitcher is supposed to do....throw strikes. He (and a couple of his teammates) have had to take on the role of catcher. Although he's not All-Star caliber at the position, he's holding his own rather nicely. And behind the plate, Nicholas' numbers are great. He's only struck out twice all season. He's becoming more patient, looking for the "perfect pitch". He's been working on all these things throughout the year...and his hard work is paying off.

Dance: Like her brother, Samantha has been working hard on her craft. And she's been rewarded by being cast as The Bird and The Wolf in two school productions of "Peter and the Wolf". And, when our Director decided to include "Peter and the Wolf" as part of this year's spring performance, Samantha was cast as the lead (Peter)! And she was INCREDIBLE! Can't wait to get the DVD and see it again.

Work: Mat and I are still doing what it is that we do. For me, this is the time of year when everything gets crazy. It's budget submittal time at DOE so I've been putting in some extra hours. Good news is that I hit the "send" button on the submittal this morning . Of course, that was followed up by yet another HQ request. Such is the world of finance.

New Toy: After 145K+ miles, a cracked windshield, failed wiper blades, and strange noises whenever you turned, it was time to put the '96 Accord out to pasture. We had done our research before the inevitable so knew exactly what we wanted... a 2010 Honda Insight. It's a hybrid that gets 40-45 miles to the gallon. So, after letting Samantha have a say in the color (Mat nor I had a preference so we went with her choice...BLUE), we now have a new car.
