Had to miss a couple of Nicholas' games due to the dance festival trip. So it was great to be back at the ball park last night. Nice weather; slightly breezey but, all-in-all, not too bad. The team played great with several players making nice plays in the outfield (a couple of long balls caught), infield (DJ at shortstop fired one into Nicholas at catcher to throw out the runner stealing home), and hitting.
Since the game wasn't too close, Nicholas took one of his "at bats" swinging from the other side of the plate (a switch hitter in the making??). It was a clean single...which he stretched into a double. They tried to throw him out but he got there a hair before the tag. If they'd have gotten him out, it would've been his own doing. Should've stayed at first, my son. ;D
Next game: Thursday night.
